Stuck? Start here.

These are the questions members actually ask, answered from how the product really works. The most important one first: nothing is ever sent, submitted, or published on your behalf. You prepare with the product; you press send.

Your CV

How do I create and save a CV?

In CV Studio, paste your current CV — or the rough notes you have — and save it. Saving is free, and it is the step that unlocks everything else: scoring against your real history, application packs, interview prep. The step you are on carries its button in the flow strip at the top, so the next action is always the one in front of you. “CV analysis” tells you where it is weak; the “stronger CV build” answers that critique when you've run one, and always applies the same hiring rubric. Both are priced — see the table below — and both keep your original untouched.

What is the confirmation tick on a CV?

It is you confirming the CV is true — every date, title, and claim. The product's core promise is that it never invents anything about you, and that promise is only as good as the document it works from. Only you can turn it on — and a CV cannot be saved without it. If a saved CV stops being true, delete it or save a corrected version; packs and scoring only ever use CVs that carry the tick. It takes ten seconds; it is not an upload check or a format test.

Why is “Prepare application” locked?

A pack needs two things: a role you have shortlisted, and a confirmed CV with enough real content to tailor from — a couple of hundred characters at least, so bare notes can fall short. The tailored CV in a pack goes out with your name on it, so it is built only from a document you have stood behind. On a shortlisted role without a usable CV, a note appears where the button would be; on a role you haven't shortlisted yet, the Shortlist button is the step in front of you.

Your edge

What is “your edge”, and where is it used?

Your edge is your positioning: the short thesis and proof points that say why an employer should pick you. You build it by answering a few questions (free); the synthesis into a thesis is priced. Once you approve it — the ticked box on the edge step, under Profile — it is used everywhere: roles are scored against it, and packs lead with it. An edge you have generated but not approved is used nowhere: the product never speaks for you from a draft you haven't signed off.

The scan, scores and tiers

Where does the product find roles?

Public listings on LinkedIn, the Adzuna and Jooble job APIs, the careers boards of companies on your watchlist, and any job-alert emails you forward to your ingestion address (shown during onboarding, on an empty board, and in the scanning panel on Search). It searches up to 3 locations separately. If you set more than 3 target roles, the daily scan rotates through them — 3 a day, every target gets its search day, and the lookback stretches so nothing posted in between is missed. Never by logging into your accounts, and never by scraping anything private.

Why did a scan return nothing?

Four honest reasons, and the scan report on your board says which: the sources were quiet; everything found was already on your board; nothing closely matched your target titles (try broader wording — “Supplier Performance” finds more than “Head of Supplier Performance Operations”); or roles were scored but landed under your minimum-fit bar — those are still listed with their scores and links, because you should be able to overrule us. Roles dropped before scoring (wrong country, entry-level against a senior target, stated visa restrictions) are shown with the reason too.

What do the tier words mean?

The score is 0–100 against your CV, targets and approved edge; the tier is derived from it at fixed boundaries: 85+ strong (apply now — rare), 7084 good (worth applying), 5569 stretch (a case can be made), and pass below that. Your minimum-fit bar, under Search → Automated scanning, decides what lands on the board; the reasons for and against each score are shown on the card. Without a confirmed CV on file the comparison is against your target roles alone, and the numbers run low — that is the score being honest, not the product being broken.

Applying

Does the product ever apply or send anything for me?

No. Nothing, ever. The pack flow is prepare → you approve → you submit in your own browser. Follow-ups are drafted for you, and you send them from your own email — if you save a contact address on the application, the draft opens pre-filled in your own mail app; without one, you copy the message into the job portal or LinkedIn. Marking one sent schedules the next nudge. This is the single most important fact about the product, which is why it is stated on this page twice.

What is in an application pack?

A CV tailored to that role from your confirmed CV, a cover note written against the posting, and the posting's hard ATS keywords with an honest measure of which ones your CV actually evidences. Approving a pack asks for the same confirmation tick as the CV — an edit re-opens it, so nothing changed after your sign-off goes out under your name.

Credits

What is free, and what costs credits?

Free, always: the daily scan and every score it produces, reading the job alerts you forward, saving and editing CVs and drafts yourself, exports and format changes. A role found in a forwarded alert is scored at the same price as one you add by hand — the first line of the table. Credits pay for actions you explicitly ask for:

Score a role (when you scan or add it yourself)1 credit
Follow-up draft1 credit
Coach message1 credit
Find-your-edge discovery3 credits
CV analysis5 credits
Stronger CV build5 credits
Tailored application pack5 credits
Interview prep brief8 credits

This table renders from the same price list the ledger charges from — it cannot drift from what you are billed. Your balance and every charge are itemised under Plan & usage.

Your data

Can I get my data out, or delete everything?

Yes, both, without asking us. Under Plan & usage: Download everything gives you one file with every record we hold; Delete my account removes all of it, permanently, after a typed confirmation — with the short list of what honestly survives, such as backups that roll off within 30 days, shown before you confirm. There is no employer-facing profile and no visibility setting to manage — nobody can see your search, because there is nothing to see. The privacy notice sets out the rest.
