How it works

A headhunter's
process, run for
one person: you.

MyHeadhunter looks for roles every morning, scores them honestly against your real experience, and prepares the application when you decide to go for one. You approve everything, and you press send. This page explains exactly what happens in between — including the parts we deliberately don't do.

The loop

Tell it what you're looking for → it searches every morning → you get scored roles with the reasoning → you shortlist → it prepares a tailored CV and cover note → you edit, approve and submit → it schedules the follow-up.

The opportunities board: roles with a fit score out of 100, a tier, and filters by tier, age and applicant count.
Example dataYour board: every role scored, tiered and dated, with the newest first.

1Your targets

Target roles work best as the discipline rather than the org chart — job adverts say “Supplier Performance” far more often than “Head of Supplier Performance”. Add up to three locations; each one is searched separately. Your working-model preference (onsite, hybrid, remote) is used both for scoring and for ruling roles out.

2The daily scan

Every morning the scan searches your enabled sources for your target roles across your locations. What it finds is deduplicated against everything already on your board, ranked by how closely the job title matches what you're after, and the strongest candidates are scored in full against your CV and profile.

Some mornings it finds nothing new. That's a real answer, and you'll be told why rather than shown an empty page — usually it means the targets are worded too narrowly, or the market genuinely went quiet that day.

3The fit score

Every scored role gets a number out of 100, a tier, and the reasoning: why it fits, what argues against it, and which keywords from the advert your CV does and doesn't evidence. The score compares the posting against your CV, which is why it means much less until you've added one — without it, the comparison is against your target roles alone and the numbers run low.

You set the bar: Strong only, Balanced (the default) or Wide net. Roles that score below your bar are still listed with their score and a link, because you paid for that assessment and hiding it would be the easiest way for us to look better than we are.

An expanded role: the reasoning for the score, three points in favour, one against, and which keywords from the advert the CV evidences.
Example dataOpen a role and you get the reasoning — including the argument against it, and the keywords the advert wants that your CV doesn't yet evidence.

4Ruled out before scoring

Some roles are dropped in code before any AI reads them — a job in a country you aren't searching, an advert that rules out sponsorship where you don't have the right to work, a language requirement you don't have, or five days on site when you've asked for hybrid. Each one is listed with its reason. If the evidence isn't clear-cut, the role goes through to scoring instead: a wrong rejection is worse than a wasted moment, because you never get to overrule it.

5The application pack

For a role you shortlist, MyHeadhunter drafts a tailored CV and a cover note, grounded in what your CV actually says. Both are yours to edit. Approving requires ticking a confirmation that the content is true and yours — the product will not put words in your mouth and then let you send them unread.

Then it shows you how to submit: the link, what that particular route expects, and which export format suits it. You submit, in your own browser. When you confirm you've applied, the role moves to Applied and the follow-up clock starts from the day you actually applied.

6Follow-ups

About five working days after you apply, a follow-up is scheduled. When you ask for it, it's drafted to add something new rather than repeat your cover note — and you send it yourself, from your own email. Up to three per role: persistent, not a nuisance.

The applications pipeline: applied, heard back, interviews and offers, with the next follow-up due and a draft button.
Example dataEverything you've applied for, with the next follow-up already scheduled. Rates appear once there are enough applications to mean anything.

Forwarding your job alerts

You get a private forwarding address. Send it the job alerts you already receive from LinkedIn, Indeed or anywhere else and the roles inside are scored like any other lead — their recommendations, our assessment.

Forward an application confirmation and the role is tracked as applied, with its follow-up scheduled — which is how applications you made outside MyHeadhunter still end up in one pipeline. If the role is already on your board, you'll be asked to confirm rather than have it changed behind your back.

Your CV

Upload a PDF, Word document or plain text and the text is extracted into an editable box for you to check before anything uses it. From there you can get an honest critique, build a stronger version, and export in ATS-safe or designed formats.

Nothing is invented. Where a stronger CV would need a fact we don't have, you get a [ADD: …] placeholder to fill in yourself rather than a plausible-sounding number. Saving a CV as your own requires confirming it's accurate.

What things cost

Actions cost credits, and prices are fixed and visible: scoring a role you added or searched for is 1, a follow-up draft 1, a coach message 1, finding your edge 3, CV analysis or a stronger build 5, a tailored application pack 5, an interview brief 8. Re-exports and format changes are free.

Your daily scan is included. The roles it finds and scores each morning cost you nothing and keep arriving even if you've used everything else — it's the part that should run whether or not you show up that day.

What we never do

  • We never apply on your behalf. No auto-apply, no bulk submissions. The send button is always yours.
  • We never invent anything. Not a number on a CV, not a claim in a cover note, not a fact about a company. Where information is missing, you'll see that it's missing.
  • We never log into your accounts. Only public job pages are read, and only ones you or the scan found.
  • We never sell your data or share your search. See our privacy notice.

Common questions

Will my employer find out?

Not through us. Nothing is posted anywhere, nothing is sent to anyone, and no profile of you is published. The searching happens against public job listings.

Why did I get nothing today?

Either nothing new appeared, or nothing new resembled your targets. You'll get an email explaining which — including what to change — rather than silence.

Why is my fit score low on a job I could obviously do?

Most often because there's no CV on your account yet, so the comparison has little to work with. Otherwise, open the role: the reasons against are listed, and you can disagree and apply anyway. The score is advice, not a gate.

Is a role still open?

Open roles are re-checked periodically, and one that's clearly gone is marked closed. Where a site blocks automated visits we say nothing rather than guess — an unmarked role isn't a guarantee it's live.

Can I get my data out, or deleted?

Yes, and without asking us. Under Plan & usage in the app, “Download everything” gives you a single file with every record we hold, and “Delete my account” removes all of it permanently. The privacy notice sets out what's held and for how long.

Supporting people you're letting go?

The same product is available to employers for everyone affected by a redundancy — not only the senior tier. How that works →
